Hey there. I’m excited to introduce The Brandon Sneed Show, my new podcast where we’re going to be telling stories about, well, everything.
The central theme: Navigating the chaos of life.
This is Episode 000, to give you an idea of what to expect from here.
Basically, I’m collecting interviews with and stories about people who seem like they come from wildly different walks of life and finding the common threads between them all — namely, that life pretty much never goes according to plan, and how we navigate all that gets thrown at us.
I’m going through the stories of where people are now, how they got there, moments along the way they weren’t sure they’d make it, and the things that pulled them through.
I’m doing all of this with an eye towards the most moving stories and people I’ve come across throughout all levels of sports, art, entertainment — from world-famous all-time greats to local legends. We’ll unpack their highs and lows, their comebacks and scars, their minutiae and inspiration, their passions and prayers, and their raw beauty and humanity.
This should be fun. I’ve got several interviews in the can right now, and despite the inevitable rough draft sort of feel to some of them due to me never having really done a podcast before, I love the conversations I’ve had and the stories I’ve heard. I’m grateful to the guests so far for being so open and willing to share. I’ve learned a lot. Heard some incredible things. And I’m really excited for you to hear them too.
I’m glad you’re here.
And on that theme of the chaos of life — as a writer, I’m pretty familiar and comfortable with, at this point, things kind of going wrong seemingly all the time, at least during certain stretches of life.
Most of my guests know how that goes, too, and they’ve been through incredibly difficult things and found remarkable good things on the other side.
Especially with everything that’s been going on the last few years in the world, and the direction some things seem like they’re going, I take a lot of hope from the more intimate stories of people dealing with their own darkness, the darkness that life throws at them, and finding their way through it.
That’s become an unexpected gift to me with this podcast. I started it because I just really love talking to people and hearing their stories, and it ended up taking on a life of its own — and I feel like it’s only going to continue to do so.
Along with the podcast, I’ll also use this newsletter to keep tabs on everything that we’ll be talking about.
You can find links to and information and updates about all of that at my website: brandonsneed.com — and right here at the newsletter.
And that is this.
Again, I’m glad you’re here.
I hope you stick around and enjoy the conversations and the stories as much as I have.
Thanks for being here.
More soon.
