Today in Episode 007, one of Hollywood's best at playing bad guys opens up and goes deep about craft, life as an artist, his surprising dream role, and much more.
Our guest is Steven Ogg, the actor appearing opposite Will Smith in the movie “Emancipation,” now in theaters and streaming on Apple+.
You might also recognize Ogg from “The Walking Dead,” where he played Negan’s righthand man Simon; the “Snowpiercer” series; or the video game “Grand Theft Auto V,” in which he voiced and performed the psychotic character Trevor.
We talked about everything:
making it in Hollywood
life as an artist
Ogg’s early days as one of Canada’s top volleyball players
his interest in music and art beyond movies and video games
the juxtaposition between the villainous and often psychotic characters Ogg is perhaps best known for…
and the more emotionally deep, caring, even kind roles that he craves.
And yes, as you’ll see, we experienced some slight technical difficulties in post — for some reason, when the recording exported, Ogg’s audio and video failed to properly sync.
Obviously, the interview was awesome and powerful beyond our recording software’s capacity.
Anyway, this was one of my favorite conversations ever. I think you’ll dig it.

And as always, thanks for being here…
