Oklahoma’s own Tyler Gregory Okonma — you know him as rapper/producer/fashiondesigner/maker of things — Tyler, the Creator — said this about why musicians shouldn’t be shy about sharing the things they make, which can be applied to anyone making any kind of art:

“You went through something. You wrote words down. You figured it out in a structural format. You made music to go along with it. You recorded it. Not just in one take. Fixed some parts, get some parts replayed.

That’s the one you played for people. [They tell you] ‘Yeah, do this.’

You edit it. You mix it. Do the album cover. It’s a whole thing.
